Announcements for 5-4-25

~This morning will conclude our memory work with our 6th grade class, who will recite Psalm 19.   Thank you to all the children, teachers and parents who worked hard on their memory work this year!  Next week, we will be presenting our 2nd graders with their Bibles. Parents of 2nd graders are asked to come up front with their children for the presentation.

~Ladies! Plan to attend Bible League’s Spring Salad Luncheon with your friends on Monday, May 5 at Rock Valley First Christian Reformed Church (1401 16th Street, Rock Valley IA). Please bring one salad for every four ladies in your group. The Luncheon begins at 11:30 AM; featured speaker is Gayle Walhof who will tell of her 4-year journey in publishing her book “Songs of Naamah – A Novel of King David’s Harem”. Updates from BLI will be given, and a freewill donation will be received. Join us for this FUN event!

Intro: What is a Man according to the World?

Importance of a Biblical understanding of Godly Men.

  1. Godly Man is Alert
    1. Recognizes the Spiritual Battlefield
      1. Where is Satan looking to attack you?
      2. Where is Satan Looking to attack the ones, you love?

 

  1. Don’t be a Margarita Man

 

  1. Stands Firm in the Faith
    1. Man of God must be a Man of the Word.
      1. Knows the Truth: Psalm 119:11; 2 Tim. 3:16-17
      2. Knows the Truth about God, Us, Sin, Salvation, Love, etc.
        1. Stand against the Devils lies: protecting the weak, fighting injustice and false teachings, etc.

 

  1. Setting Your Priorities (Intentional)
    1. Relationship with Jesus
    2. Family Priorities: Sports, Family Time, Church, etc.
    3. Relationship with Significant Others: Boundaries

 

  1. Act like Men, not like Boys (Mature)
    1. Boys = Me Focused
      1. Decisions, Purchases, Schedules, etc.

 

  1. Men = Others Focuses (Grow Up!)
    1. Decisions, Purchases, Schedules, etc.
      1. Take Responsibilities for Faith and Family
      2. Lead with Humility and Repentance
