Announcements for 4-3-22
Thank you: Thank you for remembering us on our 60th wedding anniversary. The Lord has truly blessed us with friends and family. Clarence and Karen Boer
Palm Sunday Breakfast: Our Women’s Ministry is hosting a breakfast from 8am-9am on April 10th. They will be serving breakfast pizza, rolls and fruit.
Choir practice: We will practice for the Easter Cantata in the sanctuary after church TODAY and on Saturday, April 9, at 9:30. See you there! Judy Gacke
Butterbraid Sales: Jr. RCYF is selling Butter Braids to raise funds for youth activities and events (including Power Connection 2022) You can contact a 7th and 8th grade student to order. Please reach out to Cheryl Van Beek for more information. frccheryl@premieronline.net or (712)470-0278.
Church Directory: The updated church directory is finished. If you would like a copy, please stop by the church office to pick one up. I can also put one in your church mailbox, just call or email me. Thanks Jammie frchurch@premieronline.net or 712-472-3729
Planning Center: We will be starting to implement a new way of contacting and church event planning. It is called “Planning Center”. So, if you are receiving emails to accept, please do. It is how we will be contacting you for worship planning, registering for events and other services offered here at First Reformed Church. Thanks
Prison Ministry Opportunity: Come and worship in the state penitentiary in Sioux Falls! We will join Cornerstone Prison Church for worship on Friday, May 20. We will leave from the church parking lot at 4:45pm and return around 9:00pm. We will worship and go out to eat after. You must be 18 years or older. You must fill out a waiver and turn it in to any staff member by Sunday, April 24. There are limited spots, so the first 15 people get to go! Get a waiver from the Welcome Center, Church office, or contact Valerie Lenderink, frcmusic@premieronline.net or call or text 314-637-8383.
Worship Is: What's the difference between worship and performance? Why do we sing, pray, and give an offering during church? Come join this new adult Sunday school class, Worship Is. We will explore what worship is, how to do it, what it means, the history, biblical stories, relevant application, and more! The class will take place every Sunday in March and April in Room 377 during Sunday school time. Bring your bible! Questions? Ask Valerie Lenderink, frcmusic@premieronline.net or 314-637-8383.
Living Stations of the Cross- We would love to invite you and your congregations to attend The Living Stations of the Cross, put on by the Holy Name High School Youth Group, taking place on Sunday, April 10th at 5 PM at Holy Name Catholic Church in Rock Rapids. Our hope is for this to be a growing community event each year.
Center for Financial Education is having 2 events in the next few months. We are really looking forward to our fishing outing, it's a fun day filled for families of all ages. Here is a link to the flyers. Fishing outing Golf outing
Soul Strong Morning of Renewal
When: Saturday, April 30 from 9-1
Where: First Reformed Church, Rock Rapids
Consider this an open invitation to all Sisters in Christ. Gift yourself a few hours to be empowered with new understanding and loved with an intention of grace and joy.
Come join me and my radiant colleague friend, Jada Dobesh, owner of Selah Space, as we collaborate to close the gaps of understanding towards women's mental, spiritual, physical and sexual health.
You will be well watered in Truth and well fed at the soul level (lunch included). You will leave celebrating your most sacred design; a true freedom of spirit when love and understanding align.
Soul Level Investment: $60
