Announcements for 5-1-22

 Sunday School Memory Work: This morning our 4th grade class will recite the Books of the Bible. Next week, our 5th grade class will recite the Beatitudes. Parents: please have your 5th graders to their classroom by 9:15 AM. When they are finished, the children will join their families for the remainder of worship. Thank you!

Cherub Choir, Adult Choir & Bell Choir- Cherub Choir will be singing in a combined choir with the Adult Choir and Bell Choir for special music on May 8.  There will be a special practice at 8:45 am on Sunday May 8 in the sanctuary.  

Womens Ministry Oven Project: Our Womens Ministry Team is hosting a project to raise funds for a new convection oven for the church kitchen. We are halfway to our goal of $3500. If you would like to donate, please contact Audra Klinkenborg or the Church office. All checks should be written to “Womens Ministry”

Missionary update: The missions committee, with the approval of the consistory, has added the 12th missionary team that our church will support. Josh and Alison Perkins will be getting a half share ($3,350) of support yearly. They, along with their three children, will be moving to Ras Al Kalimah, not far from Dubai, in the United Arab Emirath. More information can be found in the area of the map of the world south of the mail boxes.

MUSICIANS WANTED: Please sign up for special music for this summer at the Welcome Center or Common Ground. Questions? Ask Valerie Lenderink, frcmusic@premieronline.net or 314-637-8383 

Stations of Worship: Join us for Stations of Worship on May 8, @7:00pm. It will be a night of prayer, scripture & music. It will be a come and go event. Questions contact Valerie Lenderink. 

*There will be a lost and found table by the coat rack by the welcome center. If you are missing anything or are un-sure please check out the table to see if anything is yours. If the items haven’t been spoken for or claimed by June 1, they will be donated. Thanks

 * We have placed a recycle bin by the mailboxes for paper items you no longer want (bulletins, words of hope etc..) Please put used items in that bin and not on the welcome center or tables. We will no longer have a box for donating Christian books and materials. Please help us to keep the church clean and tidy! Thanks


VBS Registration is now open on our church website! 

Children registered by Sunday, May 8 will be guaranteed a VBS shirt. 

                           June 7: 9:00 am – 2:00 pm

                           June 8: 9:00 am – 2:00 pm

                           June 9: 9:00 am – 11:30 am

                           June 9: 11:30 program (all are welcome!) with lunch to follow


MAY BREAKFAST: The Holy Name Catholic Church’s St. Catherine’s Society is hosting a May breakfast on Saturday, May 7th @ 9am. At the Holy Name Parish Hall~1108 S Carroll Street, Rock Rapids, IA. Hope Rasmussen will be speaking about her Study Abroad Program in Peru and providing musical entertainment. 

Lifelight Concert at the South Dakota State Penitentiary

We at Cornerstone Prison Church have a rare opportunity to provide a Christian outdoor concert for all the men living on the Hill in the prison, this August.  Through a partnership with Lifelight, we will be able to share the life changing message of Jesus to hundreds more than we can gather in the chapel.  Would you consider making a special one-time contribution to this special one-day outreach event.  Please make your checks payable to Cornerstone Prison Church with "Lifelight Outreach Event" put in the "for" line.   Donations can be sent to Cornerstone Prison Church, %Dave Vande Kamp, 801 So. Gordon Drive, Sioux Falls, SD  57110.

Thank you for your willingness to donate to provide the opportunity to reflect the light of life to the entire population on the Hill.
